School Readiness

School Readiness is a program concentrating on developmentally appropriate activities for 4 to 5 year old children. School Readiness encompasses the whole child and is concerned with social, emotional, physical, & intellectual growth.  A licensed early childhood teacher instructs the class, which is designed to promote transition skills for children who will attend Kindergarten at the Parkview Learning Center.  Children have the opportunity to use the computer lab, gym, media center, outdoor playground, and eat lunch in the cafeteria.   It’s a great way for parents & children to become familiar with our school!

The half day class meets 48 days during the school year.

The full day class meets 24 days during the school year.

Children have the option to purchase hot lunch or to bring a cold lunch.
Classes are tentatively scheduled to begin the week of September  27, 2010.

Early Childhood Screening is a Minnesota requirement for School Readiness students.  Call the school nurse at 742-3821 to schedule an appointment.

Due to our limited class space, enrollment priority will be given to those children who will be attending the Parkview Learning Center Kindergarten Fall 2011.
School Readiness is partially funded by a grant through the MN Department of Education.
No Virginia School District family will be denied participation due to inability to pay.
